We make use of PGP keys to sign emails and handle encrypted. . See the knowledge base article on using PGP for more details about how PGP works and how you can use it.
You can send encypted emails to us using keys for the email addresses for sales, support, and accounts. This is usually only necessary for emails containing sensitive information such as credit card details, etc. However we understand the logic of encrypting all of your emails that you can and are happy to accept encrypted emails for any reason.
You can also send encypted emails to any of the staff email addresses @aa.net.uk. Please bear in mind that staff have personal PGP keys and do not disclose keys to other members of staff. As such an encypted email to a member of staff can only be handled by that one member of staff. Bear in mind they may be on leave or sick so it may take time to respond. In general we recommend you use the general email addresses. These also have a ticketing system which allows your email exchange to be tracked.
Staff will sign emails with their own PGP key. This is a key which has their email address ending @aa.net.uk. Feel free to query any email that is not signed or badly signed or for which the trust checks do not pass.
Keys are also available from public key servers so your email software will normally be able to retrieve keys with no problem, we also have them below. There are keys for our Accounts, Support and Sales email addresses:
All staff keys are signed using the company signing key. This is very much like a traditional company seal. Only the director has access to this key and it is only used for signing other keys. If/when a member of staff leaves a revocation is issued of that signature and loaded on to keyservers.
It is up to you if you wish to trust the company key to sign others, but we recommend you trust it to sign any @aa.net.uk or @aaisp.net.uk email addresses on keys.
